Leavenworth, 2010

Last weekend, we set out for the 2nd annual trip to Leavenworth with my sister and her family and my mom.  My mom is a brilliant person who realized that there's really nothing any of us need except for more time with our family.  So, she's decided to make it a tradition to rent a house in Leavenworth for a weekend during December as her Christmas present to all of us.  No shopping for her; plenty of lazy time with family for all of us.

This year since it was a bit warmer (like by 20 degrees) than last year and we actually had our snow gear with us and not in storage, we made it a point to go see the Christmas tree lighting in the middle of town.  But, once we ventured out it started snowing, and snowing hard.  After about an hour of walking around the town (too snowy for strollers), the kiddos had about enough, and each of them had asked to go back home at several different times.  With another 45 minutes to go before the lighting, we gave up and went home.  Maybe next year!

"No, Ainsley"

At about 4:00 pm, Wes put our coolers out on the deck.  Those 2 mounds are our full size coolers, this picture was taken just 5 hours later.  We think it snowed about 19" during that time.  No wonder the kiddos had enough walking around!

The kids playing with Matchbox cars -- it was so great to see Sydney not want to miss out on the fun!

Corbin & Ainsley played "ring around the rosey" again, and again, and again.  Poor Grandma had to be the soundtrack.
