A very delayed post about Maine - THE stool

Is it really a delayed blog post if the subject matter isn't 100% finished and hasn't found its place of honor in our house?  Mike seems to think so, as I was reminded not so long ago that the stool he made in Maine had not yet found its way to our blog.  Candidly, I was waiting for him to do a guest post all about the cool things he learned during his 2 week woodworking class in Maine back in September.  It's now clear that he's likely never going to be do a guest post.  Here goes....

The driving force behind our 2 week trip to Maine in September was for Mike and his Dad to take a curvilinear furniture making class taught by a world famous woodworking and rocking chair maker, David Haig.  They were both giddy with excitement for what they would learn that day when they left each morning for school, lunch in hand.  In the school's history, they couldn't remember another father/son pair taking a class together.  It made for quite a bit of jealousy among the other attendees that Pat & Mike were able to take the class and share their love of woodworking.

Can't wait to have this stool proudly displayed somewhere in our house.  Where?  Well, that's still under discussion.
