Santa Train & Leavenworth, 2011

It's crazy to believe I'm doing a "catch up" blog post about Christmas, when it's not even Christmas yet.  But we've had a wonderful season so far.

We kicked it off with heading to North Bend to hop on the Santa Train. We did this last year as just a fun thing to do, and when we started talking about Christmas this year (right after Halloween), Corbin remembered going on the train to see Santa. I was surprised he remembered, so promptly got our tickets.  Despite the cold (the train is not heated) this may become a tradition.

Watching the train come down the tracks..

Thrilled at the thought of the train going "super fast."

Corbin telling Santa he's 3.  He asked for a black handled saw with a gray "saw part just like the one he has."
This past weekend, we headed to Leavenworth for our annual weekend away with Peg, Wes and the girls and my mom.  For the 3rd year running, we did not make it to the Christmas tree lighting.  It gets so crowded and so cold, and the cabins/houses we rent are so cozy, it's tough to get us rallied and out the door.   But, that didn't stop us from having a fun filled, relaxing weekend.
"I can't put my arms down!"

Having no hill around, but a HUGE backyard, we opted for sledding the "Daddy workout way."

Role reversal....

Ainsley refused to put on warm socks.  About 5 minutes after being outside she had to inspect her cold toes.

Sydney, Peg and Mom.

Corbin and Yamma.  He loved "helping" her crochet candy cane ornaments.

The 3 kids (in the same place @ the same time no less) patiently waiting for the Gingerbread House to be ready.

Peg, Mom and I went to town to shop/go to some wineries and left the guys in charge of the kids and Gingerbread House decorating.  "BH" stands for "Bah Humbug!"  I guess we didn't leave detailed instructions.....
