This last weekend, we decided to tackle a couple projects in the house as we prepare to put the house on the market. We have officially outgrown it. We now have a number of things in progress. Just this last weekend, we demo'd the downstairs bathroom, got the drywall patched up, picked up new flooring, started packing up "non-essential" things, washed windows, and began staging the house. Thanks to Mom for hanging out with Corbin while we got so much done on the house.
The downstairs bathroom:
Demolition is done, and now we're waiting for drywall patching to dry so it can be painted, new hardwoods can be laid and the sink and toilet can be reinstalled. I forgot to take a before picture, so here's a "work in progress" picture.
The flooring:
We're replacing the 20 year old linoleum in the kitchen, entry and downstairs bathroom. It's now acclamating in the dining room. NOTE: Mike made sure he "stickered" the bundles of wood. I think the word "sticker" is just silly in this instance. Really, he just put sticks in between each bundle so that air could circulate around it.

The Trees:
A while back, we sold an easement to the local utility company to bring water and sewer to the houses behind us. What's in it for us? The removal of the 12 very large fir trees that were all within 10 feet of our house. They have long been a pain for us--tons of pine needles in the house, virtually no sun on our lawn (read: at least 25, 30 gallon yard waste bags of moss removed each and every Spring), and most importantly the very large branches that hit the roof in every wind storm, and the fear that one of those trees would fall on our house while we slept during a storm. For this, I actually remembered to take a before picture. The project is estimated to take 6-8 more weeks, so the after picture will have to wait a while.
