Offer #5

This evening, our offer on a house in the Education Hill area of Redmond was accepted by the sellers.  But we're not getting too excited yet.  Throughout this process, we've been really good at liking houses and placing offers.  3 of which have made it past the inspection.  So we're trying not to get too excited.  I have to admit, this time it's just different and it's really difficult to not get excited about this one.

It all happened rather quickly.
  1. Monday, 10:45 am: The house goes on the market
  2. Monday, 11:30 am - Mike & I drive by the house on our perspective lunch breaks, decide that we liked the neighborhood, and figured based on the exterior (there were no pictures on the internet yet) it had great potential.
  3. Monday, 5:00 pm.  We meet our realtor at the house and take a look around.
  4. Tuesday 11:30 am - Offer written up and signed with our realtor.
  5. Tuesday 5:30 pm - We're notified that there is a second offer on the house.
  6. Tuesday 6:00 pm - We revise our offer to our best offer, rather than leaving room for negotiations.
  7. Wednesday 3:45 pm -- Seller counters back to us and the other potential buyers and says the first person to respond will be the buyer.
  8. Wednesday 4:45 pm - We accept the counter offer.
Phew!  While it's been a long time coming, we still have the inspection next week so it's not a fully done deal yet.
