Milestones of an almost 4 year old

It's hard to believe that in just about 3 weeks, our Corbin will be 4 years old.  In the past week or so, I've started to see more of a 4 year old and less of a 3 year old.  His imagination is in full swing and I love hearing his stories about his dreams at night.  There is usually nice monster crossing some sort of bridge.  Other things we've noticed:
  • He artwork has more recognizable images rather than the simple coloring of a few months ago.
  • He has a renewed interest in his balance bike and is getting the swing of it pretty quickly.
  • He is learning to sound out letters and read.  He mostly "reads" site words of books we've read to him a million times and he has memorized.
  • There is a lot of "poop" talk around our house.  Corbin finds a way to bring it into virtually every discussion.  Those of you who may have dinner at our house in the near future, you've been warned.
He is also beginning to say some really funny things, some of which I won't put on the blog since this becomes our annual family diary and will save him from this embarassment.  But, there is plenty of other materials.  Just this weekend we were at a local festival with carnival rides and bouncy houses.....

Corbinism:
Mike, trying to get Corbin to walk with us vs. running ahead - "Corbin, you'd better quit running so you can conserve your energy for the bouncy house"
Corbin - "My energy never leaves."
Kirsten - "Truer words have never been spoken."

"A text to Ainsley."

He is really starting to color inside the lines.

This is called a "Snow penguin on her birthday."

I started writing his birthday list as he told me things to put on it.  He decided he wanted to write.  He wrote, "Skateboard, car, and Buzz Bed."
