| Corbin was very proud that he got a bracelet at the hospital too. |
| Corbin did NOT want to let go of his baby brother. |
With a slow start to labor, it seemed like it was going to be a very long night. However, about 4:00 am things picked up speed and while the epidural was being inserted, it was "go time." This was a very good thing as with each contraction, Garrett's heart rate was plummeting. If it stopped rebounding quickly, it was an emergency c-section for sure. 20 minutes later he was born, sunny side up, with the cord was wrapped around his neck twice-the cause of his heart rate variability. With a NICU nurse on hand, he was handed directly to her. To our relief he "pinked up" right away and scored a 9 on both of his Apgar scores. Just as quickly as the NICU nurse came, she left and we were holding our healthy baby boy.
Corbin has been a GREAT big brother so far. Yes, there have been some behavior issues but he loves his baby brother and is quite possessive over him and extremely gentle.
We have TONS of pictures from the last week as you could imagine. Here's a link to some of our favorites: http://share.shutterfly.com/share/received/welcome.sfly?fid=b163de1042cd0222&sid=8AcOWTRs1ZtWFs
We look forward to introducing Garrett to friends and family. Visitors welcome!
